A New School Year, A New Beginning

September 7, 2015

Welcome back to a new year and a new beginning! I am writing this on Labour Day, grateful for the roles that each of our staff play, their committed service and with profound appreciation for the dignity of all work. Thank you to all our staff who have been working tirelessly to ensure safe, warm places of welcome for learning.

The new year brings with it change. This year promises some exciting opportunities. All of us will experience the blessings of new students, staff and programs.

The new school year also offers us an opportunity to reflect upon our personal, professional and spiritual growth and to set goals. We’re proud to share with you our Board Plan for Excellence in Faith Formation, Learning and Achievement. It is our invitation that every person will see themselves as contributing to the success of this plan. Building on #HereIAm first introduced in Wellington Catholic News we will build on the guiding principles of:

• I have God-given strengths
• I am learning and leading; and
• I belong in community.

There’s a place for everyone!

I have a favourite saying, “Where do we grow from here?” This year we will undertake a strategic planning process and all stakeholders will be invited to share their thoughts and ideas so that we can continue to build a vibrant learning community and provide an authentic Catholic education for now and the future. A combination of innovation and responsible stewardship of our resources will be essential. We’ll keep you posted on the process and timelines.

Best wishes for a wonderful beginning as we boldly share our gifts, and lead and learn in community! Happy New Year! 🙂

Tamara

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.”
1 Corinthians 12: 4-6
